Battles & Brews is a flagship brand of Agora Community Events LLC, a Lafayette-based events producer built on a simple premise: Community shouldn't be behind a paywall. We believe that neighbors are at their best when they play, learn, and work together. That’s why we specialize in creating professional, high-engagement events at zero cost to attendees. By removing the admission fee, we rebuild the "Third Space"—that vital social hub where neighbors become friends and "former strangers" become teammates.

Meet the DM

Hi, I’m Scott. I founded Agora Community Events because I believe the most important things we build in life are the roots we put down in our own neighborhoods.

Originally from New Jersey, I moved to Colorado in 2014 with my wife and have spent the last decade building a community of families, friends, and neighbors right here in Lafayette. Before launching Agora, I spent 12 years in the corporate sector—specifically in Life Sciences and IT consulting—negotiating high-stakes contracts for Big Pharma. While that career sharpened my business development and project management skills, my real passion has always been the "Modern Agora": creating the spaces where people actually connect.

I’ve been a student of collaborative storytelling for over 20 years. As a professional Dungeon Master, certified Adventurer’s League GM, and former cast member of ImpactRPG, I’ve seen firsthand how a well-run game can turn a room of strangers into a team of friends. From producing large-scale Airsoft events in New York to running pro-grade TTRPG sessions today, my goal is to bring that same high-production value to your local taproom.

I’m taking everything I learned in the boardroom and bringing it to the gaming table to make Battles & Brews the premier social event for local players and newcomers alike. I look forward to meeting you at the table—and hopefully running your next great game.
